Under the background of contemporary consumer society,the social tradition of "human face" makes the consumption of our residents different from Western countries.The relationship consumption and the representation consumption in the western consumer society theory also show their unique manifestations in our rational society.With the deepening of academic research,the positive role of education on consumption level is generally recognized,and the sense of consumption acquisition is also one of the important non-monetary benefits of school education.On this basis,this study explores the distribution of educational level and consumption of urban and rural residents,and the internal influence mechanism of educational level on relational consumption and consumption forms in rational society of China,in order to provide new empirical evidence for the study of non-monetary income of education and the improvement of people's sense of life.This study uses the micro-data of China General Social Survey(CGSS).The main research methods are literature research and empirical research.Firstly,the existing literature is sorted out and the typical models of empirical research are summarized.Secondly,this paper constructs a theoretical model in line with China's social reality,and uses intermediary effect method to test the internal impact mechanism.The main conclusions are as follows: the distribution structure of education level of urban and rural residents is consistent with the hierarchical structure of consumption found by academia,the distribution of education level and consumption hierarchical structure of urban residents are similar to diamond or spindle structure,while the two are typical pyramid structure in rural residents;the rural residents are the disadvantaged group of cultural consumption.To a certain extent,the education level can weaken the difference between urban and rural dual structure in consumption structure.The education level has a significant impact on the human consumption of residents.The social participation network and reciprocal norms in social capital play an important intermediary role;the level of education has a significant impact on residents' brand consumption preferences.The current subjective socio-economic status and the expectation of the subjective socio-economic status ten years later are the important intermediary mechanism.The government should increase its investment in rural education and balance the distribution of educational resources,so as to improve the overall quality and consumption level of rural residents;strengthen the construction of rural culture,establish a long-term mechanism to provide public services for rural areas,and improve the spiritual quality of life of rural educated vulnerable groups;at the same time,the government should further improve rural medical care and maintenance to alleviate the excessive dependence of rural residents on human consumption,and carry forward the positive moral factors in traditional culture to strengthen the role of education guidance and demonstration,and promote the return of residents' consumption to rational and healthy high-quality consumption.The innovation of this study lies in: based on the social reality of human face in China,from the perspective of non-monetary income and mechanism of education,it provides policy basis for the government to expand consumption demand and understand the fairness of the results of education distribution in the new era,so that government decision makers can better formulate corresponding intervention policies to pay attention to the consumption sense of the disadvantaged groups in education.At the same time,it provides empirical evidence for the government to formulate individualized,which also conforms to the important significance of realizing education to promote people's all-round development.
