Taking Hangzhou City,Zhejiang Province as an example,this study investigated the level of community sense of urban residents and the status of community learning team participation by revising the Brief Sense of Community Index(BSCI)and the community learning team participation questionnaire.In addition,this study explored the correlation between community learning team participation and sense of community.Through comprehensive analysis of 391 valid questionnaires and more than50,000 words of interview texts,the findings are as follows.First,there is a significant positive correlation between community learning team participation and community sense.The residents who participate in community learning team have higher community sense than those who do not participate in community learning team.Secondly,there are significant differences in demographic variables in residents' sense of community.There are significant differences in residents' sense of community among different economic and health levels.There is no significant difference in the sense of community among residents of different gender,age and educational level.Thirdly,some the participatory characteristics of community learning team have significant correlation with sense of community.Specifically,there is a positive correlation between the level and quantity of community learning team participation and the sense of community;there is no correlation between the time and sense of community participation;In terms of the participation frequency of different types of community learning teams,only the participation frequency of service learning teams is significantly correlated with the sense of community.Based on the findings and discussions,this study concludes that community institutions need to strengthen the "sense of existence" and "display".The residents learning teams in community need to improve the internal and external "quality of participation" in order to respond to the challenges of community construction and community development.
