Employment Dilemma And Outlet Of Liberal Arts Postgraduates In Universities Of Science And Technology

Since the enrollment expansion of colleges and universities in 1999,the number of graduate students in China has increased year by year.The science and engineering colleges and universities which are well known in science and technology have begun to increase the number of students in order to expand the number of students and enhance their competitiveness.Accompanied by the increasingly prominent employment problem.Based on four key science and engineering universities in wuhan city as an example,the art,news,foreign languages,philosophy,law,economics of six arts professional master graduate student to carry on the empirical research,to understand the influence the employment of individuals,schools,social three aspects of the implementation of the situation,and then analyze the employment difficulties and the causes of the difficulties,and puts forward corresponding strategies to solve these difficulties.In this paper,an empirical study was carried out on the survey of 700 master's students in four polytechnic institutions.The results show that: at present,the employment of graduate students in science and engineering colleges face three kinds of difficulties: individual,school and society.One hand,master of Arts graduate students employment outlook is narrow,prefer the state-owned enterprises and institutions,and overestimated themselves in the process of job seekers have professional knowledge and practical ability and the lack of required;in terms of school,College of liberal arts professional school policy and practice to ease the disjointed,inadequate employment guidance,professional degree and the teaching content is biased;on the social side,science and engineering graduate liberal arts college students in the process of job seekers must suffer from discrimination in employment,social demand and oversupply.In view of the above problems,this paper puts forward some reasonable suggestions to alleviate the difficulties from three aspects: individual,school and society.One hand,people should establish a correct concept of employment,maintain a healthy state of mind,and do the occupation development plan in advance,improve business ability and comprehensive quality development;in terms of school,polytechnic colleges should attach great importance to the development of arts education,increase the investment to balance the educational resources,professional setting and adjustment of liberal arts at the same time,optimize the training program;on the social side,improving the employment environment,reducing social prejudice and discrimination.
