Analysis Of The Effect Of National Education On Consumption Structure Shifting

China has stepped into the stage of constructing a well-off society in an all-round way.People's living standard has been greatly improved.The number of consumer goods has increased greatly,and the types enriched,(China)has been at the critical stage of consumption transformation and shifting.Under the background of supply-side reform,to exercise macro-control appropriately to make social production meet the consumption demand of consumption structure shifting has become a crucial problem to our country.In this context,this paper explores the impact of education on the consumption structure,then puts forward reasonable policy suggestions for China to promote the process of consumption shifting.This paper mainly studies the influencing mechanism of national education on consumption structure shifting,and uses inter provincial panel data to make the corresponding empirical test.This paper first carries out a literature review on the research on consumption structure shifting,effects of human capital to economic development and national education on human capital formation,refining main views of consumption structure shifting and education in previous research;on the basis of these studies,this paper combines education,national income and the consumption structure,sums up the mechanism of how national education affected the consumption structure shifting.Subsequently,this paper analyzes current situation and the development trend of national education and consumption level in China,finds that the change of educational level per capita and government education expenditure has a positive correlation with national consumption level.Then,this paper carries out a regression of the panel data of 31 regions with consumption structure index as the dependent variable;average schooling year as explanatory variable;and used the proportion of personal social security expenditure,inflation rate,per capita GDP of all regions,government social security expenditure and the proportion of government education expenditure as control variables.The results showes that: There is a positive correlation between average schooling year and the consumption structure index,and the regression results of all control variables are basically consistent with previous studies.Starting from the perspective of national education,this paper explores the influencing mechanism of multiple factors on the consumption structure shifting and conducts an empirical test.Finally,the policy recommendations are of guiding significance for promoting the consumption structure shifting process in China.
