In recent years,with the adjustment of Chinese birth policy,the rapid advancement of new urbanization,and the influence of traditional culture,the participation of grandparents in urban families in early childhood education has become an alternative to the absence of parents,and the phenomenon of raising and educating young children by grandparents is becoming more and more common.However,the grandparents’ participation in early childhood education has seriously affected the development of children’s physical and mental health.Therefore,this study utilized the questionnaires,observation methods,interview methods and literature research methods to analyze the collected data from the grandparents of five districts in G City.The status quo of education,which has revealed existing problems and analyzed the causes,and put forward countermeasures and suggestions to optimize the participation of urban family grandparents in early childhood education.The study found that there were many problems in the participation of urban family grandparents in early childhood education,mainly reflected in: firstly,grandparents passively participated in early childhood education;secondly,grandparents did not pay attention to cultivating children’s sense of autonomy;thirdly,grandparents and fathers were different because of the concept of parenting Contradictions;fourthly,the parents were easy to ignore the emotional needs of their grandparents;fifthly,the grandparents and kindergartens were not well communicated.In the view of urban family grandparents problems of participating in early childhood education,the author put forward corresponding strategies and suggestions from four aspects: education environment,kindergarten,fathers and grandparents.Through this research,the author devoted to provide enlightenment and reference for solving the problems of grandparents’ participation in early childhood education and improving the quality and effects of urban family early childhood education,so that children could get better,more suitable and healthier education.
