Education is the only path that every person must experience in life.Education can cultivate people's qualities and nurture their sentiments.Junior high school is the second half of China's nine-year compulsory education.After experiencing,facing and solving a series of problems,mature ideas and methods of phased and systematic education have been well-developed after careful study and adjustment.What needs to be squarely faced is that even though there are a large number of teaching facilities and advanced concepts for reference,junior high school students still have many problems in their education.The academic problems of low-achieving students are still one of the challenges that education needs to focus on.The formation of low-achieving students deserves our study and reflection.This group of students is a product of the combined influence of students themselves,parents,schools and all society.Because low-achieving students have more rebellious psychology than ordinary students,there is a certain psychological defect in the cognitive of learning.It is necessary for schools,parents and teachers to make targeted and meaningful adjustments,analyze the causes of the problems,and teach students in accordance with their aptitude in order to truly prevent the series of social problems brought about by low-achieving students.Based on above findings,this research is carried out with the following three studies:Study 1: selection and research of low-achieving student.Our research subject is students at the eighth grade(i.e.second year of junior high school)who will graduate in 2019.Take their scores of midterm examination of the first semester as the original starting point,whose last 20%(50 students)are the subjects of the study.Among them,there were 37 male students and 13 female students,totaling 50(M=13.65,SD=0.49).Through the analysis of psychological motivation intervention scale,we find that the students' motivation for learning was low.Therefore,it is necessary to intervene.Study 2: Based on the above results,we conducted a strategic study on the academic improvement of low-achieving students.The study includes the establishment of multi-disciplinary counseling,psychological counseling strategy interventions and home school space-time strategy intervention as well as other methods for a period of one year.Study 3: Research on the effectiveness of strategy intervention for academic improvement of low-achieving students.Based on the investigation and intervention,50 students in the school take the initial point of the first midterm exam score at the seventh grade.Subjects of Chinese,Mathematics,English,and Science are taken as observation points.Afterwards,we collect their scores of the first final exam,the second mid-term and final exams.During each semester,we investigate and analyze the mid-term and final exams of the students for a total of 2 semesters.The four disciplines have shown obviously improved results.The comparison of the motivation of the students before and after their study shows a significant increase.The above results show that the strategies for improving academic achievement of low-achieving students are both effective and necessary.
