College students' career planning guidance is a comprehensive,systematic,complex,and long-term activity.It relates to a wide area and a range of factors,including college students' self-cognition ability,professional learning ability,communication ability,analysis and decision-making ability,and the influence of internal and external environment and so on.In the information age of high-speed economic development,the professional environment is becoming complicated,changeable and unpredictable,as well as the occupational mobility has been greatly enhanced.Due to college students are in the period of career exploration,who lack of understanding of their own,career and job market.As the employment environment becomes more and more complex and changeable,college students will bear great pressure as soon as they graduate.Nowadays,the difficult employment of college students has become a hot spot in China.Under the background of the new era,the traditional career theory can no longer fully meet the requirements of the present social situation.It is one of the important topics of college employment guidance to explore new tutoring modes,which could help college students plan their careers reasonably,guide them to choose the right professional life,and enhance their ability to deal with the complicated problems in the world.This paper mainly uses the literature method,comparative method and case analysis method to study the EPSA career planning guidance model of American college students.First of all,it discusses some problems existing in the college students' employment and career planning and reviews the current research situation of career planning guidance for American college students both at home and abroad.Then it puts forward the research subject of this paper,and explains the related concepts such as career,career planning;Secondly,it introduces the origin,development and main theories of career planning guidance in American,and draws a conclusion that with the change of the times,the related concepts of career planning guidance are constantly developing and updating;Thirdly,it analyzes the theoretical basis,practical significance,implementation steps and main characteristics of "EPSA career planning and guidance mode".Next,The University of Texas at Dallas is selected as a practical case of EPSA model.Under the guidance of EPSA model,this school has constructed a whole-process guidance system,achieved a diversified guidance approach,formed a network service platform,and created a personalized development environment.So,investigating its implementation organization,contents and forms of EPSA career planning guidancemode is important to reveal and excavate beneficial experiences.Finally,this paper summarizes the current situation of college students' career planning guidance in China.According to the concept of EPSA guidance and the successful cases of UT Dallas,some improvement strategies that could promote the sustained development of our college career planning guidance are put forward.
