With the continuous development of early childhood education,the single model of curriculum has become history.The integration of various activities,which include regional activities,educational activities,theme activities,game activities and so on,is the main forms of kindergarten curriculum.As a basic form of children's independent activities,regional activities can achieve the purpose of children's comprehensive development.The woodworking area activity which has abundant education value is a new regional activity in recent years.But many kindergartens have many problems in the implementation of woodworking area activities.This study mainly discusses the basic situation,existing problems,causes and improvement measures of the woodworking area activities by conducting interviews and observations on the kindergartens in Nanchong where the woodworking area has been opened.Based on the existing research,this study analyzes the current situation and achievement of kindergartens' woodworking area activities in Nanchong City according to the result of survey,frequency of activity,activity time,the environment creation,material placement,teacher guidance and child behavior.That is,the woodworking area has become an important part of the kindergarten public area.Parents also support the development of the woodworking area activities.The environment creation and materials of the kindergarten woodworking area are relatively rich.The teachers have a high frequency of guiding activities in the woodworking area.During the activity,the interactions between teachers and children,or children and children have frequently happened and the children have a strong interest in the woodworking area activities.Some kindergartens have accumulated some experience in woodworking area activities,however,there are still some problems in the development of kindergarten woodworking areas.For example,the woodworking area is too independent and lacks of integration with other areas;the activity time is less,which affects the depth of exploring the woodworking area activities;there are short of updated activity materials;the form of teacher guidance are single and inefficient,which cause lacking effective evaluation of activities;children in the woodworking area activities are not high-purpose,and the interaction doesn't work well and so on.In response to the above problems,the author tries to analyze the causes from the professional and dangerous characteristics in woodworking area activities,the managers' emphasis on establishment of woodworking activities and negligence of the management,the teachers' lack of the knowledge and ability about woodworking activities,and lack of relevant training for special woodworking activities,etc.The author tries to propose the following improvement measures.Including kindergartens should enrich the environmental creation and materials placement in the woodworking area,and enhance children's safety awareness;Kindergartens should carry out integrated and systematic woodworking area activities;Then set up a teaching and research team for woodworking areas to strengthen professional training for teachers;Kindergartens should improve teachers' professional quality in the woodworking area activities by holding teaching and research activities;Use a variety of methods to cultivate children's good learning quality through woodworking area activities;Finally,kindergartens should make full use of the resources outside the park to enrich the content and form of the woodworking area activities,in order to promote the effective development of the woodworking area activities in the kindergarten.
