Employment as the people’s livelihood of this by the party central committee attaches great importance to.The 19 th national congress of the communist party of China(CPC)pointed out that to achieve higher quality employment,we must adhere to the strategy of giving priority to employment.The country strengthens "stable employment" because structural employment contradiction still exists and is getting more and more serious.With the reform of college entrance examination system,high school students’ choice of subjects,universities and majors is closely related to their future employment.Meanwhile,they have encountered unprecedented challenges in career planning.Therefore,it is more and more important to conduct career education,guide students to choose subjects scientifically and make career planning.In this study,stratified random sampling method was adopted to conduct questionnaire survey on students from 15 classes of senior high school in jiangsu province,zhejiang province and shandong province where the new college entrance examination reform was carried out.Descriptive statistics,independent sample T test,correlation analysis,regression analysis and other statistical means were used for analysis.In addition,19 students were randomly selected for in-depth interview and qualitative analysis using grounded theory.The results show that:(1)High school students’ understanding of career education is significantly lower than the curriculum structure of various subjects,and there are significant gender differences in the major selection tendency of high school students with different family economic levels.(2)High school students have the strongest vocational interest in social type,but most high school students have no clear career goals and most high school students tend to work in public institutions such as teachers.(3)There are significant gender differences in the social,research and artistic vocational interests of high school students,while there are significant gender differences in the cognition and selection of self-employment and skilled worker employment.(4)Family background,school environment,social support,parental education/school career education behaviors significantly affect the status quo of career planning education of high school students.(5)There is a significant positive correlation between the career planning level of high school students and their parents’ education/school career education behavior,and a significant negative correlation with their family background.Moreover,family background,parents’ /school career education behaviors can predict the career planning level of high school students.(6)Qualitative research shows that most high school students are more concerned about the factors of entering higher education,and they are not optimistic about the current employment situation.In addition,most of the students are lack of knowledge about career planning and have weak vocational awareness.Conclusion: at present,high school students’ career education is employment-oriented,and they attach importance to the guidance of higher education,but neglect the career planning and employment guidance.It is suggested to enhance career education and cultivate students’ career planning ability from the aspects of big data path,school cultivation path and social support path,respond to the national "employment priority" strategy,and promote high-quality employment from the perspective of long-term talent quality improvement.
