"Human capital" refers to labor force with certain knowledge, experience and skills, and it's measured by "labor force with college education or above" in this study. The economic situation at home and abroad has put forward more requirements for high-quality human capital. The reality of the war for talent also proves that local governments have become aware of the importance of human capital, and expect to attract talents in various ways.Through theoretical analysis, descriptive statistics of spatial data and empirical test, this dissertation discusses the influencing factors and mechanism of spatial agglomeration of human capital. In theoretical analysis, based on previous literature and regarding theories, the dissertation explains the phenomenon of human capital agglomeration: Decisions on migration and settlement are made based on individual characteristics, expected costs and expected benefits. Thus, the spatial agglomeration phenomenon is the result of individual preferences and regional characteristics. The current level of urban human capital agglomeration is determined by three factors: the base period level of human capital agglomeration, urban attractiveness and urban exclusion. The spatial agglomeration of human capital shows the Matthew effect and the initial level can be used to approximately predict the future trend in the next few years.Urban attractiveness refers to the favorable conditions to attract talents, including good industrial development and labor income, and some relatively invisible factors such as high-quality public services, livable ecological environment, etc.Urban exclusion refers to those unfavorable conditions, such as the pressure of house purchase, the psychological discomfort caused by air pollution and traffic congestion.Based on the yearbook data of 2008,2012 and 2016,the proportions of labor forces at or above college level in each national high-tech zone are calculated and compared by means of location entropy.Figures are presented in GeoDa.Results show that in spite of the increasing numbers and the spreading trend of high-tech zones, there is still huge imbalance in the distribution of human capital in high-tech zones. In the part of empirical test,a OLS model is used, and the core explanatory variables, such as labor income, output value of high-tech zone and the base periodvalue of human capital agglomeration, all pass the significance test and prove to be significant influencing factors.Among the control variables,R&D investment in high-tech zones has a positive effect, but the impact of the four regional plates in which the city is located is not found.
