Intervention Of Group Work On Family Caregivers Of Retarded Juveniles

In our country,mentally handicapped minors are a large group,and intellectual disabilities will accompany them throughout their lives.Mentally retarded minors need long-term rehabilitation training,and early rehabilitation training is the most effective.As a caregiver closely related to mentally handicapped minors,it is very important to undertake the work of food,shelter,education,training,etc.for minors with intellectual disabilities,and to play a role in the rehabilitation,growth and development of mentally handicapped minors.However,mentally handicapped minor caregivers receive less social attention.They are often under pressure from the economy,psychology,special children,and not being recognized by others.This also affects the effectiveness of their care for mentally handicapped minors.It affects the recovery and growth of minors with intellectual disabilities.Based on the relevant literature and summary of past practical experience,this study used the Mental Disability Minor Caregiver Competency Questionnaire to assess the basic abilities of 30 A-zone mentally handicapped minors.The ability of a person caregiver is defined.In-depth interviews with 10 A-zone mentally handicapped minor caregivers to understand the capacity of mentally handicapped minors’ caregivers and to develop the capacity of mentally handicapped minors to improve their ability.On the basis of the preliminary needs assessment,the author starts from the perspective of empowerment,uses the group work method to intervene in the mentally handicapped minors,and increases the energy from both the individual and the environment,paying attention to the common needs of the mentally handicapped minor caregivers.Sharing and learning caregivers take care of the knowledge,motivate the caregiver’s potential,and improve the caring ability of mentally handicapped minors.On the other hand,the group members are guided to discuss and learn together,promote the connection between the members of the group,encourage mutual assistance among the team members,form a mutual aid group,and eventually develop into a regional intellectual disability minor caregiver mutual aid organization.Through this study,the ability of mentally handicapped minors to be cared for was defined,and the ability of mentally handicapped minors to be cared for was comprehensively analyzed to assess the need for improved caregiver capacity.Through the practice of a Caregiver Rehabilitation Capacity Enhancement Team,it provides practical experience for social workers to intervene in the capacity of mentally handicapped minors and promotes the ability of mentally handicapped minors.
