As the builders and successors of socialism,college students shoulder the important task of the future development of the country and the nation.In the context of the innovation-driven era,whether it has a good spirit of innovation is more important.At present,the cultivation of innovative talents is a new need for social development and international talent strategy.Colleges and universities are important places in which students can develop their innovative talents,and the ideological and political theory class is involved in fostering what kind of people,how to cultivate people,and the purpose of cultivating people,so we must insist on keeping pace with the times,making innovation constantly,exploring new ways and methods to shoulder the significant task of the construction of innovative talents in universities and colleges,which is also a historical mission and responsibility given to ideological and political theory course.What is the current situation where ideological and political theory course is able to promote college students’ innovative spirit ? What is the specific embodiment of the role of ideological and political theory course in promoting all the dimensions of the innovation spirit of college students? What measures should be taken to further enhance the role of ideological and political theory courses in cultivating college students’ innovative spirit? These problems are in urgent need of further discussion.In view of this,this study takes 1149 college students from all over the country as the research objects and adopts the questionnaire survey method to investigate the overall situation and difference of the promotion effect of college students’ innovative spirit and ideological and political theory course as well as the promotion effect of ideological and political theory course on various dimensions of college students’ innovative spirit.The results are as follows:1.From the overall situation,on the one hand,the overall level of college students’ innovative spirit is general;From the perspective of the four dimensions of innovation spirit,college students are relatively good in reflexivity,average in flexibility,and quite poor in innovation and criticism.On the other hand,compared with other public or professional courses,ideological and political theory courses have a general promoting effect on the overall level of college students’ innovative spirit,which is significantly less than that of other public or professional courses.Specifically speaking,from the four dimensions of the spirit of innovation,firstly,the ideological and political theory course has no significant effect on the flexibility of the spirit of innovation,and the critical promotion of the spirit of innovation.Secondly,it has a significant promoting effect on innovation spirit,but is less useful thanother public or professional courses.2.From the perspective of differences,on the one hand,there are significant differences in the overall level of innovation spirit of college students and their academic performance in the four dimensions.On the other hand,there is no significant difference in the demographic and sociological variables of the promotion effect of ideological and political theory courses on college students’ innovative spirit.3.In terms of ideological and political theory course,from the perspective of the intermediary effect of teachers’ support,first of all,the ideological and political theory course can directly promote the innovative spirit of flexibility and adaptability as well as depend on the support of teacher to make it,do STH unconventional or unorthodox,reflective of ascension;Secondly,ideological and political theory courses cannot directly promote the improvement of innovative spirit and critical thinking but indirectly achieve that via the teachers’ support.Finally,based on the above research results,this paper analyzes the college students’ innovative spirit and the causes behind the role of promoting the status of ideological and political theory.And on this basis,it puts forward some suggestions and countermeasures about the ideological and political theory course for cultivating college students’ innovative spirit,namely,setting teaching goals with a purpose and according to their aptitude,reform teaching content and teaching methods and adjust,reform teaching content and teaching methods and adjust,pragmatic effectively carrying out the practice teaching and pushing,motivating teachers to provide strong support and demonstration,perfecting the evaluation and incentive system and implementation.It is hoped that this study can provide theoretical basis and practical guidance for cultivating college students’ innovative spirit,especially for strengthening the role of ideological and political theory courses in cultivating college students’ innovative spirit.
