A Research On The Low Divorce Rate And Its Reasons From The Perspective Of Village Structure

Since the founding of new China,China's economy has developed rapidly,which also brings about many social problems.The increasing divorce rate is a typical example.This not only caused people to reflect on the status of marriage,but also aroused the widespread concern of scholars.However,in the research of Honggang village,Foshan city,the author found that the local economy is developed,but the divorce rate is very low,and the marriage is very stable.So,the author takes Honggang village as a case and takes the divorce phenomenon as the research object to analyze the reasons for the low divorce rate from the perspective of the social structure of the local village.The research content of this paper includes: 1.The phenomenon of divorce in Honggang village,including the number,cases and characteristics;2.What are the characteristics of the social structure of Honggang village,analysing from the perspectives of clan structure,economic structure,village culture and public opinion constraint.3.How does marital cohesion affect villagers' marital behaviors,analysing from individual,family and society.At last,What the author founds is,firstly,the average divorce rate in Honggang village is 2.15‰ in the past four years,and the overall number of divorces is small,and Men dominats the divorce right.Secondly,Honggang village's structure is unity,which affects the villagers' marriage behavior from a macro perspective.The characteristics of solidarity are embodied in the collective action ability generated by the patriarchal clan,the identity of the land rent economy,the traditional village culture and the effective restriction of public opinion.Tirdly,marriage cohesion is generated by village structure.At the level of personal cohesion,it is influenced by the social status of men and women and the value of women's noumenon.At the level of family cohesion,It is influenced by the system of kinship.At the level of social cohesion,it is influenced by marriage markets,village welfare and village opinion.It is based on the multiple rational considerations of "culture,emotion,economy and responsibility" that the couples choose to maintain the marriage's integrity in the maximum extent.
