The purpose of this paper is to explore how to apply the theory of iconography to high school art appreciation course.With the establishment of the new curriculum standard,the role of art education has been attached great importance to.Art appreciation courses are offered in ordinary high schools,aiming at making students feel the charm of art,appreciating and analyzing art works under the guidance of art classroom teaching,excavating and experiencing the situation and purpose of artists'creation,and combining the cultural background of the times.And understanding the spiritual meaning and social significance of the works,guiding students to change their thinking mode,appreciate and interpret the works of art in a correct way,so as to promote the comprehensive development of students'morality,intelligence,physique and beauty.This article is mainly composed of five parts:The first part of the introduction,a brief description of the background and significance of this study,as well as the research status at home and abroad,introduces the research methods and ideas of this paper as well as innovations.The second part is the authors analysis and Reflection on the current situation of art appreciation teaching in senior high schools.The third part is to clarify the spread and development of iconography in Western art history,the establishment of specific analysis methods,and the revision and application of iconography theory.The fourth part tells how to put Panovsky's three-level analysis methods into the high school art appreciation teaching,such as reading pictures,illustrating pictures,combining with the analysis of five case works such as Laocoon,the Battle of San Romano,San Marco's Remains Discovery,Hou Chibi Fu and Cai Wei Tu.Interpretation of the use of iconographic analysis in art appreciation classroom teaching in ordinary high school,in order to help students to understand a work of art in depth,and can interpret the deep meaning behind the image of the work,so that students understand the works of art while comprehensively grasping the hidden world behind the work.The fifth part is the significance and thinking of the application of iconography in the art appreciation course of senior high school.The author summarizes the teaching cases of the previous chapter and puls forward that the art appreciation course is actually a part of humanities.Only by mastering the ability of image reading,can we stimulate the students'enthusiasm in class and cultivate them.And improve the ability to explore knowledge and the knowledge of a wider range of humanities.
