Colleges are the main positions for the generation of history teaching theory,while middle schools are the main places for the practice.This will inevitably lead to the disconnection between theory and practice,and history teaching journals act as a bridge between the two.History teaching journals play an important role in history curriculum reform and the professional development of history teachers.History teaching journals disseminate the information of history education,which have both successful and failing lessons.There are new trends in the theoretical research of history education,as well as new ideas and attempts of history teaching methods.They can reflect in a relatively timely manner the current popular or relatively new ideas,scientific research achievements and reform trends.It is universally acknowledged that each history teaching journal carries a history of history education,which is a window for us to see the historical context,development trend and achievement or failure of middle school history teaching research."History Teaching"(Middle School Edition)(hereinafter referred to as "History Teaching")is one of the most authoritative journals in the field of middle school history teaching in our country.It can represent the highest level and the latest research results of history teaching research.From the perspective of "History Teaching",this paper attempts to analyze the articles published from 2014 to 2018,so as to explore the current research hotspots and development trends of history teaching,and to peep into the effectiveness and shortcomings of the research on history education in middle schools,so as to explore its enlightenment on future history teaching research.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part:The introduction introduces the background and importance of the topic selection,the innovation and the main research methods,and combs the previous research results.The second part:Based on bibliometrics,this paper makes a statistical analysis on the column setting,core author group,prolific author and prolific unit of "History Teaching" from 2014 to 2018,presents the research status in the form of charts and illustrates its enlightenment to the practice of history teaching according to the research conclusions.The third part:Based on the content analysis,this paper analyses seven aspects of the texts of "History Teaching" in the period of 2014 to 2018,including the study of history curriculum,the study of history curriculum standards,the study of history education objectives,the study of history textbooks,the study of history teaching methods,the study of history academic evaluation,and the comparative study of history education between China and foreign countries,so as to explore the research of history teaching in middle schools in the new period.The new progress and shortcomings of the development will provide some reference and experience for the future research and teaching practice of history teaching.The fourth part:On the basis of the analysis and summary of the previous article,this paper reflects on the achievements and shortcomings of the current history teaching research,and explores its enlightenment to the future history teaching research.
