As an enlightening and thought-provoking subject,history is characterized by its strong consistency and continuity.As for history teaching in junior and senior middle schools,the former lays the foundation for the latter,while the latter sublimates and improves the former.In this manner,the transition between these two phases is quite crucial.To fully understand the current transition of history teaching from junior middle schools to senior middle schools,the author carried out a questionnaire survey among history teachers of certain junior middle schools and fresh students of four high middle schools in Guilin.After collating and analyzing the collected data,the author discovered that there is a lack of efficient transition of history teaching in junior and senior middle schools in Guilin.Based on relevant principles of pedagogy and psychology as well as the teaching practice in various junior and senior middle schools in Guilin,the author deems that the transition of history teaching from junior middle schools to senior middle schools in Guilin requires the coordination and cooperation of history teachers and students in junior middle schools and relevant departments in Guilin.History teachers in junior middle schools should:(1)Update their knowledge to improve their own professional competence.(2)Study further to promote their own professional development.(3)Properly exploit and make use of local history resources in Guilin to integrate such resources with teaching materials.(4)Optimize teaching strategies to improve the efficiency of history courses in junior middle schools.(5)Clarify the historical context to build a historical framework for students of junior middle schools.(6)Provide guidance for learning methods to effectively transit history learning from junior middle schools to senior middle schools.Students of junior middle schools should:(1)Make clear the differences of history learning in junior and senior middle schools to get mentally prepared.(2)Lay a solid foundation to elevate their own capabilities.History teachers in senior high schools should:(1)Be familiar with items of the history teaching in Junior Middle school;Understand the curriculum standand and learn the learning situation.(2)Link up the teaching ways of Senor High School and Junior High School.(3)Lead the students to change the ways of learning history.(4)Strengthen the comminication and understanding with the history teachers of Junior High School.
