After the establishment of the Republic of China,Chinese textbooks developed rapidly.The "New Chinese Textbook" in the early 1916 edition was edited by Lv Simian.As an outstanding master of Chinese studies,historian,and linguist in the 20th century,Lv Simian edited and published many textbooks on the history,geography,and other aspects of primary and secondary schools.The "New Chinese Textbook" is the only surviving set of higher primary and secondary school textbooks written by Lv Simian.By studying the compilation and selection of the "New Chinese Textbook",especially comparing and analyzing its similarities and differences with the "New Textbook of the Republic of China",this can not only deepen the general characteristics of Chinese textbooks used in higher and primary schools in the early days of the Republic of China.It is also possible to study Lv Simian's unique understanding and development of Chinese language and teaching materials.This has important reference significance for the understanding of Chinese subjects,the writing and use of Chinese teaching materials.This paper includes three parts.First of all,the introduction mainly introduces the background and significance of the textbook,the current research situation,and the research ideas and methods.Secondly,the body consists of three chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces the internal and external conditions for the preparation of the "New Chinese Textbook".This paper mainly introduces the external factors of this textbook publication from three aspects:the Chinese curriculum setting,the advanced concept of Cai Yuanpei and other Chinese textbooks in the early days of the republic of China,and then introduces the unique educational experience and teaching practice and experience of Lv Simian.The second chapter mainly conducts the "New Chinese Textbook" compilation and selection research.From the three aspects of the selection catalogue,the content of the selection and the arrangement of the selected texts,through the horizontal comparison between the textbooks,the general characteristics of the Chinese textbooks in the early days of the Republic of China were clearly understood;In the content and arrangement of the selection,through the comparison with the "New Textbook of the Republic of China",it is clear that Lv's textbook is unique and progressive.The third chapter mainly explains the reference value of the compilation and selection of "New Chinese Textbook" from the aspects of the compilation and use of teaching materials and the understanding of languages.In the end,the conclusion summarizes and reflects on the thesis from the perspectives of classical and practical.
