The hearing sense of the deaf is greatly impaired due to physiological or external reasons. It is difficult to acquire some knowledge through auditory pathway just like hearing people,it causes deaf students to have difficulties in reading Chinese text. The process of Chinese reading is also a process of word segmentation. There is no obvious visual information between words in the Chinese text, which makes it difficult for deaf people to carry out word segmentation in the text.So some researchers believe that color is a more obvious visual clue that can be applied to reading. Some researchers have added red, green, brown and blue as markers of color in Chinese texts. The alternation of color conditions can help readers to read compared with monochrome blank text. The results of the study show that:Alternate color text has a certain effect on beginners' reading. But for deaf students, whether this method can promote its reading efficiency remains to be studied. In this study,16 deaf students from grade 5 to grade 6 were selected as subjects, and the single-factor two-level design was adopted(marking method:monochrome normal marking condition and the red, green, blue and brown alternate marking condition). The eye link 1000 eye tracker was used to record the subject's reading process. In the present study, the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)Under the condition of alternating color word segmentation mark and single color word segmentation mark, alternating color word segmentation mark can promote the reading efficiency of primary school grades 5-6.(2)Alternating-color is an effective way of word segmentation.
