With the deepening reform of higher education,China's higher education is transforming and developing at an unprecedented speed and scale,at the same time,the quality of higher education has become the focus of social concern.As an integral part of the internal quality assurance system in colleges and universities,students' evaluation of teaching has been introduced into the process of university management.Its relatively objective,true and reliable advantages have been well adapted to the demand of higher education quality control and become an important way to improve the teaching quality and competitiveness of colleges and universities.In China,however,due to the lack of experience and understanding on students' evaluation of teaching in colleges and universities,most students' evaluation of teaching do not give full play to their value and function.Hence how to carry out students' evaluation of teaching more scientifically and effectively and how to make it plays a greater role in improving the quality of education and promoting the professional development of teachers,it is worth our further thinking and research.Based on critical concepts of students' evaluation,theoretical basis and the necessity of the evaluation in teaching,the study chooses the experienced S university as the object.In the research,questionnaire and interview,which is related to the system of students' evaluation,will be worked as the main methods to carry the experiment.Additionally,four dimensions are included,they are overall cognition,system of the index,organized implementation and analyzing the results.Finally,it has been found that some problems still exist in students' evaluation of S university:(1)teachers and students do not have a high recognition of the evaluation;(2)the index system is not scientific;(3)students evaluate teachers in a loose attitude;(4)students' manner of evaluation is rough.These issues have an impact on the functions of students' evaluation of teaching to some extents.For the problems existing in students' evaluation of teaching,the researchers,on the basis of reflection,combined with the relevant theories,put forward some strategies to help S university students to improve their students' evaluation of teaching: through enhancing teachers' enthusiasm for evaluation and students' ability on evaluating teaching to improve students' understanding of the value subjects;through the participation of multiple stakeholders to establish an index system of multivariate classification and increase the comprehensiveness and test ability of the index and then construct a scientific and reasonable index system;through strengthening the publicity and guidance of the evaluation of teaching,choosing a reasonable time for evaluation of teaching,and adopting a diversified way to strict organize the implementation process of students' evaluation of teaching;through establishing the feedback system,analyzing the management system and the using system of evaluation results to realize its scientific treatment and utilization.
