As China’s material civilization and spiritual civilization advance,society is becoming more tolerant of sex and people no longer get disturbed at the mention of sex,but under the influence of traditional culture,"sex" is still a quite sensitive issue that has long been evaded in China.Childhood is a crucial period in the development of life and an important stage in the development of the sexual role.For primary school students.they are in a pre-adolescent period of physical development and emotional germination,which is critical to the formation of their ideals,character and outlook on life.Offering good sex education will help primary school students grow healthy in body and mind and transition smoothly to adolescence.Relying on "2018 Central Finance Supporting Targeted Poverty Alleviation in Social Work Education(Yunnan)" project,this study carried out the social work of providing sex education for girls in higher grades of Y Primary School under the guidance of social work-related concepts and methods.In view of the actual situation of Y,this study made qualitative and quantitative analysis of the quality and status of sex education for girls in higher grades of Y Primary School by use of literature review,investigation,interview,and observation.On this basis,it drew on relevant theoretical research and practical experience at home and abroad to explore the specific practical models of intervening in sex education for rural girls.The practical work was guided by the social learning theory,and group work was used to carry out sex education for girls with an emphasis on observation and imitation in the learning process.The group members completed the acquisition of sexual knowledge,mastery of sexual skills and the transformation and improvement of sexual attitude and sexual consciousness using the four processes of observational learning and motivation with the aid of classroom teaching,scenario setting,physical demonstration.picture book reading and other tools.Meanwhile,the value of group members was trusted and the potential of group members was unlocked under the guidance of humanistic values.In the form of peer education,the group members shared sexual knowledge with others as the backbone of sex education and the scope of beneficiaries was expanded accordingly.Also under the guidance of the social support theory,an external support system for girls was established with social workers as the mainstay by integrating useful resources and combining various forces.The study found that the intervention of group work to a certain extent improved the sexual knowledge and skills of the senior girls in Y primary school,changed the wrong concepts of sexual education,promoted peer-to-peer education of girls,enhanced the support of parents and teachers for girls’ sexual education,and created a good external support environment. |
