The phenomenon of relatively backward rural education has not fundamentally changed for a long time,due to the relative lag of rural economic and social development,and the gap in education quality between urban and rural areas has become greater and greater in the process of urbanization.The relatively backward schools has been characterized by its enormous challenges.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to explore the characteristics of rural primary schools,realize the connotation development,and promote the continuous improvement of the quality of rural education.Taking Chenhan township central primary school in Susong for an example,this paper introduces the development history of the school,focuses on the characteristic content?rich connotations and construction achievements of the school culture,and deeply analyzes the characteristics of school management and its positive factors and constraints.The school insists on the inheritance and development of art education as a school-running feature,focusing on integrating art culture into educational and teaching activities and campus living environment.Each class has an art interest group,and organizes an art festival each year to help each student improve artistic accomplishments,creates a strong artistic atmosphere and forms a unique campus culture.In the course of building and developing the characteristics of running art education,the school has always adhered to the premise of improving the conditions of school management,taking the teaching reform as the main task,the drums and dance as the principal way,and driving all kinds of art projects to go hand in hand,and the trombone,and vigorously cultivate the art of students.The specialty is to stimulate the students' enthusiasm for learning and let the children grow up healthily in a happy artistic atmosphere.Although the school is a typical poor mountainous area school,it strives to cultivate the new type of talents with " virtue?diligence?fraternity and beauty ",and aims to set a good example with "a beautiful environment?talented team?excellent quality" for the rural schools,to create satisfactory education for the mountainous area people.The development course of school running can give the rural schools especially in poor mountainous areas to provide reference and thinking.Through case studies of the school's characteristic construction and development,we find that school characteristics also face many difficulties and problems such as insufficient hardware investment,insufficient teacher resources,difficulty in forming consensus,lack of effective guidance and so on.As a result,we believe that we need to clarify the mode of characteristic construction,adhere to its principle and grasp the method in the course of characteristic construction.Also,we need to optimize school management,promote teacher development,and student growth,moreover relying on social support,we can strengthen policy guidance,and increase publicity,and many more.Only by fully recognizing its own strengths and advantages,correctly handling the contradictory and unitary relationship between internal and external contradictions,and finding innovative measures to promote the construction of school-running characteristics can we truly promote the sustainable development of schools.
