Under the background of education informatization,open online education is booming,and the educational data produced by open online platform should not be underestimated.In this context,learning analytics can help stakeholders better understand,analyze,and apply data.Among them,data visualization is an important means and method in learning analysis,and also an important content of learning support service in open online education.Learning analysis visual dashboard is a new research content of data visualization at present.It not only visualizes the shallow student information,but also serves as a visualization support service with student-centered concept and integrated functions of comparison,analysis and warning.This study aims to design a visual dashboard based on learners' portraits,aiming to provide better learning support services for teachers and students,and help stakeholders in teaching monitoring and self-reflection.This study firstly constructs a set of visual instrument panel specifications,including index design,design principles,form and structure design,interface design and graphic chart selection,function design and information model construction,through literature analysis and reference of visual instrument panel created by other organizations and institutions.Then,based on the online learning platform of Shanghai Open University,the design and research of visual instrument panel were carried out by taking the course computer graphics as a case and combining the above specifications.Case,first of all,through the questionnaire survey way to invite Shanghai Open University students enrolled in the computer graphics for a needs assessment,and better understand their needs in data visualization,found that most learners would like to know about their learning interaction,the results of the study,learning behavior,etc,in which learners are most interested in is learning interaction on participation,the least interested in is compared with other learners,strong sense of self-awareness;Then,the study is carried out on the learners' portraits,which can be used as the basis for visual dashboard indicators.Finally,the indicator design based on the three dimensions of "basic information--behavioral characteristics--learning results" is formed.Secondly,the visual dashboard is designed according to the above specifications to determine the release form,structure,information composition and function of the visual dashboard.At last,teachers and learners are invited to evaluate the effect by means of questionnaires and interviews.Teachers say that the visual dashboard of learners' portraits can clearly and intuitively feel the changes in students' behaviors,and they can intervene on this basis.Learners said that the visual dashboard of learners' portraits can promote their understanding and reflection,and stimulate their learning through self-comparison and comparison with others.They are also satisfied with the use of the visual dashboard.
