Investigation And Analysis On Sex Education For Autistic Students

With the rapid development of society and the rendering of mainstream media,the public requirements and awareness on sex education have become more and more intense.Because of their core obstacles,autistic students are more likely to have problems on sexual behaviors(e.g,exposing genitals,improper masturbation,and being unable to keep a safe distance with others).The problems above mentioned may bring about barriers on their growth.On the one hand,the autistic students would become the victims of sexual assault.On the other hand,there is an invisible obstacle that prevents the autistic students from having normal social contacts.Thus,it turns out to be very necessary and urgent for the autistic students to have sex education.This article adopts quantitative research and qualitative analysis.About 130 parents and 45 teachers of a special education school in Fuzhou filed the questionnaires.In the meantime,the writer also had in-depth interviews with 29 parents,16 teachers and 21 autistic students of the special education school.In addition,the writer observed a second grade autistic student having serious problems on sexual behaviors for a long time,and carried out a functional analysis.Based on the above researches and analyses,the writer is trying to find out the current situation and existing problems on the sex education for the autistic students,to understand the requirements on the sex educations from the views of parents,teachers and autistic students,to solving the problems in this regard,and to promote autistic students’ integration into the society.
