A Study On Social Work Support For Empowering Parents Of Autism

Autism is a representative disease ofPervasive developmental disorder.Its sympto ms are social disorder,language disorder and serious stereotyped behavior.Autism is a congenital and lifelong disease,so far the cause of autism is unknown,there is no fundamental cure.Currently,popular rehabilitation treatment focuses on alleviating the symptoms of autism,helping people with autism better adapt to social rules and develop their ability to live independently.Most patients cannot live alone in social life and need lifelong care.parents of Autism as their primary caregivers,are also faced with various difficulties in long-term care of their children.This article takes the parents of Autism in Dalian A as the research object.Through the previous field observations,questionnaires and interviews,It is learned that the parents of Autism in A institution in Dalian are mainly faced with the disability dilemma of social communication obstruction self-cognition deviation and decreased quality of life.At present,these powerlessness of parents have been supported by families,peer groups and the society.These support have alleviated the parents' powerlessness to a certain extent,but these support faces the lack of support and cannot fundamentally solve the parents' powerlessness.The study found that the most effective way to solve these powerlessness is to impro ve the parents' ability and tap the potential of the parents so that parents can face and solve these dilemmas.Based on the understanding of the status of parents' disability and the existing support for autistic patients,this article empowers parents of Autism through the Parent S upport Group and the Parent Education Group.The Parent Support Group helps parents achieve emotional and social empowerment by building a platform for interaction between parents and self-awareness and emotional communication under the guidance of social workers.The parent education group is carried out in the form of a series of expert lectures.Through the series of lectures by experts,parents can correctly understand autism and learn some methods of autism rehabilitation intervention to solve their self-blame and helplessness.The evaluation of the two groups found that the parent support group can effectively increase the interaction between parents,especially the emotional exchanges.Parents have established close relationships with at least one other parent through this group.Parent education grops have effectively raised parents' awareness of autism.Most parents believe that children with autism are not necessarily related to parents.Most parents have learned at least one kind of autism rehabilitation intervention through lectures.Both groups of social work have effectively alleviated the powerlessness of parents of Autism.
