| In recent years,countries and regions in the world have been faced the tide of globalization,and each stage of social development also embodies the different characteristics of globalization.It is an era of new developments and opportunities arising from cultural exchanges.As reform and opening-up moves forward,China’s economic performance has continued to receive world attention,and China’s overall national strength and international influence have been further strengthened.Vigorously developing cultural soft power has become an important task in the new era.As the Belt and Road Initiative and the building of a community with shared future for mankind have been launched,the love for the Chinese language has been on the rise,overseas Chinese teaching has been further developed under the strong support of the government.Based on the theories of total physical response,this paper probes into the practical role of this method in Chinese teaching in primary and secondary schools on the basis of the author’s experience in the Green Hills Academy in Rwanda.In the introduction,this paper expounds the background,significance,research methods,a summary and related theories.Then it introduces the basic concept and teaching method of total physical response theory.Then the author analyzes the specific situation of the aforementioned country and the school,and carries out the teaching practice in combination with the reality.During practice,the author recorded the implementation of teaching in detail and the students’ reaction in the classroom,made a summary and reflection,and provided relevant suggestion to the teachers and the school.As an interesting teaching method combining language and body movements and with diverse forms,whole body reaction method could be of great use in Chinese teaching in primary and middle schools overseas.The research of this paper will provide useful reference for those who are engaged in Chinese teaching in primary and secondary schools overseas,so as to promote the development of overseas Chinese education. |
