Academic procrastination refers to the act of delaying the achievement of goals.Many studies have found that One of the psychological mechanisms of academic procrastination in middle school students is low self-esteem caused by low level of self-acceptance.The core goal of Satir family therapy model is to help middle school students improve their self-acceptance,so as to enhance their motivation for learning and healthy growth.Finally,the model can help them take the initiative to reduce academic procrastination.this study consists of two parts.Study I is a correlation study.A demographic survey,a Self-acceptance questionnaire,and an Academic procrastination questionnaire were utilized to analyze the results of a total 291 students from a secondary vocational school in Nanchang(including all the students majoring in preschool education at grade 18),to determine the relationship between self-acceptance and academic procrastination of these students.Study II is a intervention research.Firstly,a feasible group counseling scheme for improving self-acceptance according to the Satir model was protocoled.Then,the scheme was a p plied to practice,and the therapeutic effects were examined by com paring the results of pretest and post test and he control group.the feasibility and effectiveness of such scheme under Satir were also investigated during experiment period.Finally,19 subjects were randomly divided to each group,a total 8 groups counseling for 120 minutes each time were conducted to the intervention group.Results of two groups(before and after the experiment intervention)were statistically analyzed and com pared to each other.the results of study I showed that there was a significant negatively correlation between the self-acceptance and the academic procrastination,the total score of self-acceptance and self-evaluation factor can negatively predict academic procrastination.self-affirming factor correlated to Internet addiction while self-denial factor positively correlated.the results of study 2 showed that there was no significant difference in self-acceptance and academic procrastination between the experimental group and the control group,it indicating that the baselines of the two groups were basically same before the experiment.the post-test results showed that the self-acceptance level of the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group,while the academic procrastination level was significantly lower than the control group.It shows that the self-acceptance level of the experimental group has been improved,while the academic procrastination score has been reduced correspondingly,and the group counseling of Satir family therapy model is effective,while the control group has not changed.the results prove that the group counseling of Satir family therapy model is effective in this study.However,the control group did not change.Conclusion:(1)there is a negative correlation between self-acceptance and academic procrastination of Secondary vocational school students.the higher level of self-acceptance,the lower level of academic procrastination;(2)Secondary vocational school students' self-acceptance can negatively predict academic procrastination.Among them,the total score of self-acceptance and self-evaluation factor have a negative predictive effect,while self-acceptance factor have not;(3)the group counseling of Satir family therapy model can influence the level of academic procrastination by improving self-acceptance level;(4)the promotion of self-acceptance can effectively reduce the academic procrastination of secondary vocational school students.
