The sense of place is a profound emotional connection between people and local long-term interactive process.In general,the longer you live in a place,the more frequent the contact and interaction with local people,and the higher the degree of local feeling.Therefore,the length of time,the close connection between individual and local environment are important factors in the formation of the sense of place.With more and more frequent personnel exchanges and social exchanges between Taiwan and Mainland,more and more Taiwanese groups have chosen to settle in Mainland China,including the special group that are Taiwanese children in Mainland China.The special identity of the immigrants and Taiwan compatriots have made their adaptation and integration of mainland receiving significant attention,as well as their emotional interaction with the mainland.To explore the cognitive and emotional difference between Taiwan and mainland of Taiwanese children in Mainland China have a great significance for the economic and cultural exchanges and development between Taiwan and mainland,also for the social adaptation of Taiwan compatriots in Chinese mainland.This study selected the HuaDong Taiwan businessman's school in the Eastern China,with its middle school students and high school students as the research object and researched respectively sense of place for both sides,Taiwan area an mainland area,of Taiwanese children in Mainland China,and comparative analysis of both differences of sense of different places.Results show that:(1)the Taiwanese children in Mainland China have a very active and positive sense of place of Taiwan,and there are obvious differences in the growth experience,the time of living in the mainland,the parents'identity and the language habit;(2)Taiwanese children in Mainland China generally have a neutral attitude to the sense of place of the mainland,and there are significant differences in family location,growth experience,parental identity and language habit;(3)Compared the sense of place of Taiwan with the sense of place of Mainland China which both of Taiwanese children in Mainland China,it found that the sense of place to Taiwan of Taiwanese children above their sense of place to Mainland which also reflected in the dimension of place attachment,place identity and place dependence.(4)There are two aspects of endogenous and extrinsic factors that result in the differences between sense of place of Taiwanese children in Mainland China on both sides of the Taiwan straits.This difference also affects the spatial behavior selection of the Taiwanese children.
