A Study On Taiwanese Student's Information Interpretation And Impression On Mainland China

The purpose is to understand the way Taiwanese college students interpret mainland China's information and the impression of the mainland.The author will analyze the media literacy from two aspects:media exposure behavior and media interpretation.Then analyze the impression on the mainland.So we can analyze how the information shape their impression of the mainland.The author tries to find out the barriers and breakthroughs of the cross-strait cooperation.In order to analyze Taiwanese university students' perceptions and attitudes,the paper combines the method of questionnaires and in-depth interviews,supplemented by observation of the interviewers.Then we can explore the formation process and key factors of the impression of Taiwanese university students on the mainland China.Main findings are as follows:Firstly,they are passive about mainland China's information.The most popular medium is Internet,but they are still skeptical about the Internet.Secondly,media habits of college students in Taiwan:Social media is the most influential media.Facebook and Line are the most popular,WeChat and Weibo are the most popular among Taiwanese college students;Traditional media has a strong influence in the past years,they are still alive on the internet nowadays.Thirdly,the media attitude of the mainland China can influence Taiwanese college students'attitudes.Especially when it comes to sensitive issues related to security and international space,Taiwanese local media can greatly mobilize the attitude of Taiwanese university students and lead their direction.Fourthly,cross-strait exchanges among college students can effectively clarify and reduce prejudice of each other.Finally,mainland media contact can improve their impression on the mainland.With the popularization of the Internet,people's access to mainland China information is diversified.College students can know more ample information about mainland China,which increased new possibilities for cross-strait exchanges.Based on the sincere exchanges between two sides of the Taiwan Strait and high-speed economic of mainland China,it is believed that the relationship between the two sides of the Taiwan strait would become increasingly inseparable.
