The development of today’s society has put forward higher requirements for the cultivation of talents,that is,paying attention to the development of abilities,and the core of the development of abilities is the development of thinking.With the change of the times,people’s thinking should move from low-order thinking to high-order thinking.Higher-order thinking ability is a kind of ability which is different from lower-order thinking,which is defined as analysis,synthesis,evaluation and creation.The formation and development of higher-order thinking ability is influenced by many factors.In high school geography teaching,taking regional map as the carrier is an indispensable tool for teaching knowledge and training students’ thinking ability.The Geography Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017 edition)conforms to the development,insists on reflecting the requirements of the times,condenses the core qualities of geography,and fully emphasizes the importance of maps in the specific implementation of academic requirements.Based on the theory of high-order thinking ability and regional map,taking the use of high school geographical map as an example,this paper investigates the current situation of the development of senior high school students’ higher-order thinking ability and teachers’ views on the development of higher-order thinking ability,and analyses the results of the survey.On this basis,the strategy of cultivating higher-order thinking ability in high school geography regional map teaching is put forward.Combining with strategy analysis,design relevant teaching cases.This paper is divided into seven parts.The first part analyzes the research background and significance of using regional map to cultivate higher-order thinking ability,and studies the research status of it at home and abroad through alliterative research method,and then on that basis,to summarize and put forward the researching topic of this paper,and briefly introducing the technical route and research method for this paper.The second part defines the concept of high-order thinking ability and regional map,and sums up the high-order thinking ability in geography teaching on the basis of predecessors,respectively to name the analytical thinking(spatial thinking and time thinking);comprehensive thinking(associative thinking,structural thinking,human-ground interactive thinking);evaluation thinking(decision-making thinking and dialectical thinking);creative thinking and chart thinking.Finally,it introduces the relevant theoretical basis to cultivate higher-order thinking ability in regional map teaching,providing theoretical support for the research of this paper,including geography teaching theory,high-order learning theory,social constructionist theory,information processing theory and dialogue theory.The third part analyzes the relevance of using regional map teaching to cultivate high-order thinking ability for high school students,and summarizes the principles of using regional map teaching to cultivate high-order thinking ability of them as follows:comprehensive principle,scale principle,coordinated principle and development principle.The fourth part makes for use of questionnaire survey and interview method to investigate the development status of high school students’ high-order thinking ability and teachers’ views on the development of high-order thinking ability,and utilizes the descriptive statistical analysis method to analyze the survey results and make attributed analysis for existing problems.In the fifth part,to aim the problems existing in the survey results,combining with relevant teaching cases,this paper puts forward the strategy of cultivating high-order thinking ability in the teaching of high school geographic region map by using case analysis method.The sixth part,to combine with the proposed strategies and aim to develop the high-order thinking ability of high school students by using regional maps,and designing relevant teaching cases.The seventh part,a conclusion and prospect,is concluded that use of regional map teaching that is feasible and necessary to cultivate high school students high-order thinking ability.the paper makes high school students in Jinan art school as sample book to investigate and got the results of present situation about using high-order thinking ability cultivated area map teaching is not very good.And there are many ways of training the higher-order thinking and any way to be able to obtain significant effect.There are still many shortcomings in this study.In the next step,the author will cooperate with other teachers,continue to study and improve the use of regional maps to cultivate higher-order thinking ability,and expand the scope of research according to the training characteristics of higher-order thinking,and expand the research sample,put the proposed strategies into practice,constantly improve and improve,so as to make this study more referential.
