With the increasing number of floating population in China,migrant children have become a huge special group.The disparity of cultural differences between urban and rural areas,the frequent migration of the floating population and their different ways of parenting,are bringing about physical and mental weakness in migrant children when they come iinto unfamiliar cities.They are confronted with various pressure and difficulties,in which loneliness is the most common and distinet problem.Loineliness is a negative,diffuse mental state which produces from the negative emotional experience when people realize the great gap between social expectation and reality.Loneliness has a great influence on children's growth.Long-standing loneliness is not only detrimental to the development of children's physical and mental health,but also impedes their ability of learning,living and social adaptability.In this study,214 migrant children aged from 9 to 12 of XX Hope Primary School in Yongjia County were chosen through stratified sampling method as research subjects.Among them.49 students in Grade 3(22.9%).42 in Grade 4(19.6%),83 in Grade 5(38.8%),40 in Grade 6(18.7%).The survey was conducted by Children's loneliness Scale(CLS),Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS)and basic questionnaire of migrant children to grasp the condition of loneliness and social support of migrant children in this school.In addition,SPSS 19.0 software was used to comprehensively analyze factors that cause children's loneliness.Unstructured case interviews of migrant children with high level loneliness were taken to evaluate their demand of cognitive competence,social support.conmmunicative skills and emotion management.In accorcdance with the evaluation result,a two-month group work for 12 migrant children selected from 48 children with high level loneliness was implemented from the perspective of social work to explore effective methods for reducing children's loneliness.In the end,the data of loneliness and comprehended social support before and after the research were compared through process assessment and results assessment to test the effectiveness of the work of the group.Survey results:The average loneliness of migrant children in XX primary school was 31.59 ± 8.285,60.3%of them had loneliness and 22.4%of them were with high loneliness.The loneliness of migrant children was negatively correlated with social support,Loneliness and social support of migrant children basically showed a negative correlation.The lower the social support,the higher the loneliness.There was no significant difference in loneliness between school age and sex.After the group work,migrant children improved their self-awareness.increased social support,improved social skills,established a positive and optimistie attitude.then reduced the loneliness effectively.Therefore,the group work had anadvantage in the intervention of the loneliness of migrant children.After the group work,improvement was seen in self-awareness,social support,social skills,life attitude of migrant children.Therefore,group work method was worth promoting in reducing loneliness and enhancing social support of migrant children.
