The Nineteenth National Congress of the CPC pointed out that "scientific and technological innovation is still the first driving force for development".Education plays an irreplaceable role in achieving the goals of building China into a science and technology giant,also a modern powerful socialist country.Geography,as an interdisciplinary subject between natural sciences and social humanities,is a powerful way and channel for cultivating the necessary scientific literacy of citizens.However,due to the discipline orientation of Geography in senior high school,geography is slightly less than physics,chemistry and biology in fostering students’ scientific competence.This paper will discuss the significance of geography teaching in senior high school to cultivate students’ scientific competence through practical teaching case studies.This paper mainly includes the following parts:The first part is introduction.It mainly includes the background and significance of the research,research ideas and main research methods of the paper,scientific competence and geographic competence research progress at home and abroad.The second part is the conceptual analysis and theoretical basis.This part elaborates the scientific competence,core competence,core competence of geography and their relationship,defines the framework and specific content of scientific competence,and clarifies the theoretical basis of the study.The third part is the survey on the current situation of high school geography competence training.Based on the data of questionnaire analysis in Zhengding Experimental Middle School of Hebei Province and Xiongxian Middle School of Baoding City.The fourth part is the principles and methods of cultivating students’ scientific competence in high school geography teaching.Including the principle of students’ subjectivity,scientific principle and problem-oriented principle,the training methods and ways are geographic scientific experiment method,geographic information technology method and geographic scientific investigation method.The fifth part is the design and application of teaching cases.The two teaching cases are "Front System" in natural geography and "West-to-East Gas Transmission" in human geography.The sixth part is the analysis of experimental results and research prospects.The analysis of the effect of scientific competence training is based on interviews with students and questionnaires. |
