Colleges and universities shoulder the heavy responsibility of knowledge innovation and technological innovation,and undertake the mission of national rejuvenation and national prosperity.Innovative talent development in institutions of higher learning can lay the foundation for sustainable development of a country.This is an issue of great concern not only to educational circles,but also to national and social development.Institutions of higher learning must develop innovative talents consciously,and undertake the responsibility of developing innovative talents.Taking the cultivation of innovative talents in colleges and universities in China as the research object,this paper makes an innovative research on the connotation structure of innovative talents,explores the goal of training innovative talents in various universities,helps to understand the theory of innovative talents training.It is beneficial for colleges and universities to set scientific training objectives and position innovative talents scientifically.In addition,the study of undergraduate innovative talents is of certain theoretical significance for universities to update innovative talent training programs based on their own characteristics.The innovative talent development in China has mainly experienced two development stages—exploration and reform.The national government has promulgated a series of policies to support development of top-notch innovative talents,including setting up “Talent Development Model Innovation Experimental Zone”,launching “National College Students Innovative Experiment Program” and “Outstanding Engineer Education and Development Program”,and promulgating “Fundamental Subject Top-performing Students Development Pilot Program”.Taking Peking University and China University of Geosciences(Beijing)as an example,this paper analyzes the characteristics of innovative talent training,analyzes the innovative talent training system from five aspects: training concept,training system,training method,teacher development and environmental management,which are mainly caused by the convergence of training concepts,the solidification of the training system,the single training method,and lack of innovative faculties and innovative environments;which are mainly caused by the background of seeking quick success and instant benefits,the cultivation of innovative talents is easily influenced by culture and system.In addition,the lack of guarantee conditions has led to problems in the cultivation of innovative talents in Chinese universities.To cope with above problems with innovative talent development in Chinese institutions of higher learning,this paper proposes efforts to be made in the following five aspects: first,sublimate the teaching concept;second,better the development system;third,optimize the way of talent training;fourth,enhance faculty team construction;fifth,create a favorable innovation environment.Clarifying talent training can guide the development of colleges and universities,guide the smooth development of education and teaching reform and talent training practice.Secondly,the cultivation of innovative talents promotes the reform of college education and teaching and guides the reform of education and teaching.Finally,to define the orientation of innovative talent training and promote the balanced development of students not only contains the mission of higher education,but also provides important guidance for the self-development of college students.With the background of building an innovation-oriented country in China and based on the long-term development of colleges and universities,it can solve the problem of low innovation ability of college students to construct an innovative talent training mode from the practical level.
