Geographical practical ability is an important part of the core quality of geography and a comprehensive embodiment of the practical ability and thinking quality of the students.However,there are few researches and investigations in students' geography practice power in the current geography teaching.At present,the urgent point in geography teaching is how to cultivate and improve students' geographical practical ability with an effective and easily practical teaching methods.Therefore,this paper develops research on the cultivation of geography practical ability in high school students from the aspect of project teaching method's application in geography teaching.The paper uses the literature analysis method to understand the research status of project-based learning and geographical practice ability,it analyzes the advantages of application project-basedlearning in cultivating high school students' practical ability.The paper comprehensively uses the interview method and questionnaire survey to analyze the current situation of project pedagogy in high school geography teaching as well as the present geography practice of high school students.According to the analysis of the basic situation,the author finds that due to the influence of various factors,the project pedagogy is applied narrowly in the geography classroom of senior middle school and the students' geographic practice ability and quality are relatively insufficient.Now therefore,Based on the content of the compulsory curriculum of PEP,this paper designs and implements three typical teaching cases,The existing problems were analyzed.The results showed that using the project teaching method in high school geography teaching had some positive effects on the cultivation and promotion of the students' abilities such as organization and planning,information extraction and application,theory summarization and expression,problem analysis and solution.And it could enable students to establish the correct values,develop a good geographical quality,achieve the purpose of enhancing the geographical practice.Therefore,Using Project Teaching Project-based learning to cultivate high school students' geographical practical abiitly has a certain applied and promotional value.
