| In recent years,the reform of basic education curriculum has deepened.How to effectively integrate the curriculum is a hot issue for educational scholars today.STEM education which integrates the four fields of science,technology,engineering and mathematics represents the educational trend under the macro environment.It fosters students’ comprehensive ability.Especially the cultivation of problem-solving ability is one of the core values of STEM education.The top ten core skills identified in the 2012 report by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD)on “Preparing Teachers and Developing School Leaders for the 21 st Century: Lessons from around the world” also includes critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Based on this research background,the author proposes a research study regarding the design and implementation of developing the problem-solving ability in primary school STEM teaching.Firstly,the research aims to develop the problem-solving ability of primary students.It combines the reality and theory to construct a STEM teaching model.Secondly,the specific teaching design and teaching practice are carried out by taking the fourth-grade students from a primary school in Shanghai as subjects and intelligent hardware with modeling tools provided by a company in Shanghai as teaching materials in the study.Finally,a relatively consummate teaching model is obtained through the summary,reflection and improvement in the practice process,all in effort to provide reference and empirical experience for the STEM curriculum design of the primary school for problem-solving ability training.The research results show that the improved teaching model in this article can improve the problem solving ability of pupils effectively in STEM teaching.The research is aimed at cultivating students’ problem solving ability in real situations.In the research,the teaching model suitable for STEM classroom in primary school was designed.And based on the model,the specific teaching design and implementation was carried out. |
