The issue of education and income equality has always been of concern.Education is an important postnatal factor to personal income. In reality, the phenomenon of unequal access to education exists in large numbers, mainly manifested in the unequal distribution of educational resources. In addition, the family economic also have a direct impact on the educational opportunities. The educational return rate is the main research object of educational economics.which is also one of the important reasons for the equality of educational opportunities being discussed, because the education level of labor is directly related to the rate of return on human capital and to everyone’s most tangible benefits. This paper uses China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS)and China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS)data, attempt to use two data to cross-validate the same issue from different views.Empirically analyzes the impact of family income on the level of children’s education and the impact of head of household education on economic income, and combines the two to study the intergenerational transmission of education and incomeThe empirical results show that the family economic situation has a significant positive effect on the improvement of the individual’s education level. The children of low-income families have their academic qualifications at a relatively low level, while the children of high-income families have higher academic qualifications. There is a positive correlation between personal income and the level of education, which means that the higher the level of personal qualifications, the higher the rate of return on wage, which means that the rate of return on education is significantly positive. In a comprehensive view, the family economy affects individual education, and individual education will also adversely affect family income Through the intergenerational transmission mechanism, the poor and rich families will be in a state of differentiation, thus weakening intergenerational income mobility. This paper addresses this issue by effectively integrating CHNS and CHARLS data and using quantile regression to study the relationship between education and income intergenerational transmission. The personal education and its interaction with family income are brought into the intergenerational income elasticity estimation equation. The interaction coefficient is positive, and it increases significantly as the points increase. It shows that for high-income earners, the combination of education and family income can strengthen the intergenerational income transmission effect.
