Computational thinking is a basic thinking ability that everyone should master in the 21 st century.The research on its cultivation in China is mainly concentrated in middle schools and universities,but the cultivation of computational thinking in primary school has received little attention.Visual programming,as a combination of "visualization" and "programming",has algorithmic attributes,Abstract attributes,automation attributes and the characteristics of "Low Floor","WYSIWYG" and "building blocks",which opens a new way for the cultivation of primary school students' computational thinking.This paper focuses on how to use visual programming as a carrier to cultivate primary school students' computational thinking,and lays a foundation for their future development of information literacy.Based on literature research,questionnaire survey,interview,data statistical analysis and action research,this paper constructs a computational thinking training model for primary school students based on visual programming,based on the combing of the connotation and elements of computational thinking,the analysis of the cognitive level and thinking ability of primary school students,and the interpretation of the characteristics of visual programming.Specifically,this paper carries out the following aspects of research:Firstly,it summarizes and analyses the current teaching situation of Computational Thinking and visual programming as well as its development status at home and abroad,and extracts the elements of computational thinking training in primary school.The extracted Computational Thinking elements are integrated into the cultivation process,and the visual programming is used to classify the knowledge.and the training model for the procedural knowledge and the training model for the strategic knowledge areconstructed.Secondly,teaching design is guided by the training model,and the preparation of teaching practice is completed,including the writing of teaching plans,the making of teaching courseware,the preparation of relevant teaching resources,the design of classroom records and observation tables,the construction of pre-post test questionnaires,etc.Thirdly,conduct action research through teaching practice and reflect on the problem observed in each round of action research in order to revise the implementation details and verify the feasibility and validity of the model from the perspective of qualitative evaluation.The pre-post test data was analyzed to verify the validity of the training model from the quantitative perspective.Fourthly,according to the problems and reflections in action research and the results of data analysis,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the cultivation of Computational Thinking of primary school students based on visual programming.
