As an information technology teacher,how to implement the computational thinking training goal in the current information technology class is a problem that we are facing and must solve.Computational thinking is a thinking activity in which modern people use computer science thinking,decompose problems,and form solutions in the face of complex problems in life.Computational thinking is one of the core literacy of contemporary students.Only those with core literacy can adapt to the rapidly developing information age and grasp the opportunities of lifelong learning.The core literacy of computational thinking is also one of the abilities teachers must help students acquire.At present,many information technology courses in primary and secondary schools in China only pay attention to the acquisition of students’ computer operation skills,and they still lack understanding of students’ computational thinking.The research and practice of cultivating students’ computational thinking in the primary and secondary education stage is still in the exploration stage,and there is no reference model for the more mature system of computational thinking teaching.The lack of an effective teaching model has the consequence that teachers cannot effectively and timely implement computational thinking training objectives in information technology courses,which greatly affects students’ ability to develop and adapt to society.Therefore,this problem is very urgent.In this context,this paper selects action research,investigation research,literature research,evaluation research and other means and methods to study the teaching of junior high school students’ computational thinking based on visual programming.First of all,a baseline survey of the actual situation of junior high school visual programming teaching,focusing on research issues.Secondly,based on the successful experience of computational thinking teaching at home and abroad,based on the analysis and comparison,based on the problems found in the survey,the construction of a computational thinking based on visual programming forjunior high school students(JCTV(Cultivating Junior Middle School Students’ Computational Thinking Based on Visual Programming))teaching mode.Finally,taking the eighth grade students of KF Middle School in Qinhuangdao City as the research object,the feasibility study of the model and the application effect check of the model were carried out.The research results show that the JCTV teaching mode proposed by this study has significantly improved the students’ data thinking,data analysis,data representation,problem decomposition,abstraction,algorithm and process,automation,simulation and parallel.Students can recognize that life situations and programming are closely related and have a higher interest in classroom learning.In short,this study finds that the proposed JCTV teaching mode is feasible in the teaching of junior high school visual programming,and has a significant effect on cultivating students’ multi-faceted computational thinking ability.This research has reference value for the research and practice of cultivating students’ computational thinking ability in junior high school programming teaching.
