Purpose and Significance:Applying the problem-based learning model to the practice of Free combat teaching in middle schools, this paper compares the teaching effect between the problem-based learning model and traditional teaching model through experimental research, and analyses the effects of the two teaching models on students' physical fitness, sports interest and free combat skills, thus forming an empirical study of the problem-based learning model. The theoretical framework and evaluation system of the study, the research results and conclusions provide effective empirical reference for further research, and the research results provide effective data reference for the group of Free combat project teaching in basic education with the application of the problem-based learning mode, and guide the improvement and reform of teaching mode methods. Methods:Documentation, expert interviews, experiments, questionnaires, mathematical statistics and other methods were used to study.Result:1.Before the experiment, there was no significant difference in the results of physical fitness index and sports interest index between boys and girls in the experimental class and the control class(p > 0.05).2.After the experiment, compared with the control class, the experimental class had a more significant improvement in all physical fitness indicators(p < 0.05).The scores of the six dimensions of sports interest, novelty, challenge, attention, exploration, pleasure and overall were significantly improved(p < 0.05),and the effects of the two professional skills such as fist-leg combination and left-right Whip-Leg kicking sandbag were more significant(p < 0.05).)3.Before and after the experiment, both boys and girls in the experimental class had significant improvement in the results of physical fitness indexand sports interest index(p < 0.05);boys in the control class had significant improvement in the indexes of 50 m,lead upward,800 m,girls had significant improvement in the indexes of 50 m,one minute sit-ups,800m(p < 0.05),and had significant improvement in the three dimensions of sports interest adjustment, attention and exploration(p < 0.05).(p < 0.05).Conclusion:1.Problem-based learning model can significantly and comprehensively improve students' physical fitness and interest in sports;2.Traditional teaching model can comprehensively improve students' physical fitness and interest in sports, but the overall effect is insufficient;3.Compared with traditional teaching model,problem-based learning model can significantly improve learning.Students' physical quality, sports interest and professional skills.
