| Academic management refers to the management related to academic affairs and activities in colleges and universities.Academic management is the core of higher education management,the direction indicator for the healthy development of colleges and universities,an important decision for academic development in universities and an essential demand for higher education management.Independent college is an important part of higher education and the emergence of new things in the process of popularization of higher education in China.Since appears,it has received growing attention of nation and scholars.Academic management of independent college refers to the management related to academic affairs and activities in independent colleges.Academic development is the vitality of the development of independent colleges.However,at present,independent colleges attach little importance to academic development,with low academic atmosphere and low academic levels.Without exploring the academic development of independent colleges,it will face a crisis in the future.For a long time,most of the researches on independent college involve the historical background,the subject of running school,the meaning of “independence” and the legal status,but not many related researches on academic management.Based on the polycentricity governance and the stakeholder theory,this paper takes Guizhou independent colleges’ academic management as the research object.Through the use of literature research and visiting research to make a concrete analysis of the present situation and existing problems of Guizhou independent colleges,by using comparative analysis to analyze excellent academic management experience of domestic and foreign independent colleges,thus to learn their academic management concept,operating mechanism and means of implementation,combining with the basic situation of Guizhou higher education and related theories to construct academic management methods suitable for the independent colleges in Guizhou province.The paper is divided into five parts.The first part is introduction that includes the research background and significance,research ideas and methods,domestic and foreign literature review.The second part is to define academic management in independent colleges and the theoretical basis of this paper.On the one hand,it respectively defines independent college and academic management,focusing on the development,rationality,difficulties and vitality of independent colleges and explain academic management in independent college,on the other hand,it proposes the two supporting theories.The third part is the analysis of the status of Guizhou independent colleges’ academic management by using a series of research methods.The status analysis includes the following aspects: the academic affairs activities,academic management resources,academic management agencies and academic evaluation system of Guizhou independent colleges.The fourth part analyzes the reasons of imperfect academic management in Guizhou independent colleges and summarizes the advantages as well as the weaknesses.The fifth part is countermeasure and suggestion for improvements of Guizhou independent colleges’ academic management.After analyzing current problems and reasons,this paper proposes some reasonable countermeasures and suggestions for the development of independent colleges in Guizhou Province,improving and standardizing Guizhou independent colleges’ academic management.Firstly,knowing clearly the future development trend of academic management in Guizhou independent colleges;secondly,implementing reform from the aspects of increasing teachers’ academic management,improving the quality of academic affairs activities and perfecting mechanism;thirdly,analyzing the academic management methods of independent colleges from the perspective of the polycentricity governance and the stakeholder theory;finally learning from outstanding experience of independent colleges at home and abroad. |
