Intercultural Communication Barriers And Chinese Language Teaching

Abstract/Summary:
Chinese teaching in Cadet College Petaro has a history of seven years.In the past seven years,Chinese teaching in Cadet College Petaro has been becoming more and more standardized.Nevertheless,there are still many problems in the teaching of Chinese in Cadet College Petaro.Based on my two-year teaching practice in Cadet College Petaro,the author presents the problem of intercultural communication barriers between teachers and students in Chinese teaching in Cadet College Petaro in the form of cases.On the basis of interviews,this paper,in the form of cases,understands the problems existing in the teaching of Chinese in Cadet College Petaro.It is found that in the teaching of Chinese in Cadet College Petaro,the obstacles of intercultural communication between Chinese teachers and students are mainly manifested in three aspects: conceptual,linguistic and non-linguistic.Because of the difference of Chinese teachers’ personal ability and students’ learning motivation,family culture background and other factors,Chinese teaching is affected.Therefore,in the process of teaching,both teachers and students cannot successfully complete communication.In addition,a series of unreasonable policies on Chinese teaching in schools also affect the communication between teachers and students.On the basis of case analysis,the author puts forward a series of coping strategies to promote the development of Chinese teaching in Cadet College Petaro.Firstly,in terms of the quality of teachers of Chinese as a foreign language,we should enhance the awareness of cross-cultural communication,strengthen the ability to use the second language,and actively communicate with others,so as to improve the quality of teachers themselves,so as to better communicate with students.Secondly,in terms of students’ ability to learn Chinese,we should improve their motivation to learn,strengthen cultural teaching and the study of basic Chinese courses,so as to improve their intercultural communicative competence.Finally,for the school,it is suggested to rationally arrange the Chinese curriculum and the scale of language classes,organize some Chinese cultural activities and carry out cross-cultural communication training,so as to reduce the communication conflict between Chinese teachers and students.Through the above exploration,the paper attempts to understand the general situation of Chinese language teaching in Cadet College Petaro and help Cadet College Petaro to improve Chinese language teaching reasonably.
