With the development of the education in China, the national curriculum system is more specifically. But as an essential part of the middle school geography curriculum, local geography curriculum can complement and perfect the requirements of three-level curriculum system construction better. In fact, there are some provinces and cities of our country have already developed good and distinctive local geography teaching materials. However, Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County is a national-level poverty-stricken county, there are nearly 70% minorities in this area, and its economy and education belong to under-developed areas. They haven't developed their own local geography curriculum and teaching materials because of its immature development and utilization of local geography curriculum. Therefore, it has very practical significance for us to study the development and utilization of local geography curriculum resources of Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County. The author chooses the development and utilization of local geography curriculum resources of The Hui nationality Autonomous county as his master's thesis, using the corresponding research methods to investigate and analysis the present situation in high school stage of Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County and the problems of local geography teaching, and provides some strategies and approaches for the problems. The author hopes it can be helpful for the local geography teaching of Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County.This paper is on the basis of knowing the three curriculum system of our country and combining the corresponding educational theory. It also considers the progress of local geography curriculum in Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County as the research object to discuss the development and utilization of the local geography curriculum, and gets the following conclusions:(1) The Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County has rich potential resources of local geography curriculum and is conducive to the development and utilization. Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County's unique geographical position makes it have its unique geographical features. These provide a wealth of material for the development of the local geography curriculum. In addition, with the promotion of curriculum reform and the improvement of people's education level, teachers, students, parents and educational administrative departments are more and more concerned about the development of local courses.(2) In the development and utilization of local geography curriculum, the teachers should consider the corresponding educational theory as its theoretical basis,combine with the actual teaching needs, and mix together it and the high school geography teaching in order to improve the efficiency of teaching. With regard to many problems and difficulties in the current situation, teachers should increase their ability training, improve research capabilities, clear objectives and contents of the development, combine with a variety of resources approaches, and use a variety of ways to present the outcome of the development. And teachers should improve its results constantly, so that it can serve better for the actual education and teaching,too.(3) In the course of local geography curriculum, teachers should change the traditional teaching and students'learning. Nowadays, in the promotion of quality education, teachers should pay attention to the construction of knowledge. Both teachers and students should construct together. At the same time, Let students should participate in the process of local geography curriculum resources development and utilization in Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County in order to make students'know more about their hometown and improve their learning interest.(4) The development of local geography curriculum should conform to the curriculum concept and combine the three-dimensional goal of education and teaching. Meanwhile it should pay much attention to the cultivation and training of students' various geographical skills and improve the students' Geography literacy.This research, on the basis of teaching practice experience of geography education in Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County, using the teachers' and the students' questionnaire and interview to collect data, after careful analysis of the selection and integration to get the information, has high credibility. The author hopes this research will be helpful for local geography teaching of Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County.
