The health of pupils have been given a lot of attention. The way of growing healthily has become an important educational topic that needs attention of the state and the society.Good physical fitness is a necessary prerequisite for each student’s education, and it also provides a major backup resource for national prosperity. The issuance of "National Fitness and Health Standard of Students" provides basis for pupils’ physical tests and presents powerful persuasiveness. The content of the test possesses the concept of science, rationality, enrichment and development, highlights the human-centered property and is conducive to the overall development of students’ bodies.Every year, the national student physical fitness monitoring program will be changed and adjusted. Is it possible to use a simpler test program on campus to achieve a follow-up evaluation of the student’s physique if the same purpose is to be achieved? This is what we need to discuss now.Purpose: The condition of juveniles’ cardiovascular system is important content of physique evaluation. The cardiovascular system effectively reflects the quality of body.Step test is an initial experiment that was widely used all around the world at an early stage. It easily assesses the level of cardiovascular system function. In this paper,30 sixth-grade students from Green Wave Primary School were selected as the experimental subjects. They were tested for two months. The step test index was used as the reference value to compare the exercise effects of in-situ high leg movement test and the step test under different exercise load conditions. It was aimed to explore a simple form of new exercise load to assess cardiac function and provide a quantitative reference for students’ physique assessment. Methods: The literature review method was used in this study.Domestic and oversea latest developments and real time data on students’ physique test were collected.Papers and books on the origination, development and examination of human physique were referred to.These work provided solid theoretical basis for the effectiveness of the aim in this study. As for the experimental method, the step test indicators widely used around the world during early years were used as the reference index to set up multiple sets of in situ high leg raising tests with various exercise rhythms and durations for comparative analysis. As for mathematical statistics, all data from tests was classified by Excel and treated and analyzed by SPSS.Results: The in-situ high leg test of 60 times in 30 seconds for girls were correlated to step test with the correlation index of 0.521 and P-value of 0.046.The in-situ high leg test of90 times in 45 seconds for boys were correlated to step test with the correlation index of 0.533 and P-value of 0.041.The in-situ high leg test of 120 times in 60 seconds possessed the highest correlation to step test, with the correlation index of 0.826 and P-value of 0.000 for boys, and the correlation index of 0.701 and P-value of 0.004 for girls. The in-situ high leg test of 90 times in 30 seconds was correlated to step test, with the correlation index of 0.605 and P-value of 0.017 for boys, and the correlation index of 0.545 and P-value of 0.035 for girls. Conclusion: The in-situ high-lifting exercise of 120 times in 60 seconds was the most relevant to the results of the step test.It can be used to evaluate the cardiovascular function of primary school students and provide an easy and alternative program for students’ cardiac function evaluation.
