With the advent of the era of globalization and information intellectualization,it has become the key point for countries to improve their international competitiveness to cultivate the core talents adapting to the development of the 21 st century. The STEM education concept is a comprehensive education concept. It aims at cultivating people with all-round development such as scientific spirit, practical innovation ability, and problem-solving ability through interdisciplinary integrated learning based on projects or problems. In the course of China's basic education reform, the Ministry of Education issued the “Primary School Science Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education” to make it clear that the elementary school science curriculum is a comprehensive and practical curriculum, advocating elementary schools to scientifically develop interdisciplinary learning methods, and encouraging the use of STEM concepts to teach practice. This study, under the guidance of the STEM concept, conducts project-type activities for elementary school science and explores the impact of the STEM concept on the subject's knowledge acquisition, scientific discipline attitudes, and problem-solving abilities.Based on the characteristics of primary school science learning activities and the characteristics of project-based activities, the importance of elementary school science in implementing project-based activities guided by the STEM concept is clarified around the needs of elementary science education:The STEM concept is the teaching requirement for elementary science education, and project-based activities are an important way to implement the concept of STEM.Learn from the five processes of project management and their logical relationships, the overall process of the project-based elementary school science project activities under the STEM concept is designed, including the start-up process, design process, implementation process, control process, and finishing process. In the project-based activities, learners match the corresponding functional roles according to their learning styles, and manage project-based activity processes in terms of time, quality, and cost. Then from the perspective of learners and teachers, design the framework of project-based activities. This study centered the “Shape and Structure” unit to carry out the “Bridge Architects Growth Road” project-based activity.Through survey questionnaires and student self-evaluation,it collected data on attitudes, emotions, knowledge principles, and problem solving capabilities.Use functional record sheet and teacher evaluations will carry out a process evaluation of project-type activities. The research results show that under the STEM concept, the elementary school science project-based activities have improved students' interest in learning and motivation in the science disciplines, helped students to memorize and apply knowledge content that spans the boundaries of disciplines, and cultivated students' problem-solving abilities and team cooperation ability and the ability to use simple tools.
