| Illustrations are the basic components of textbooks.They are the basic medium for students to build knowledge,and they are also important presentation methods for textbooks.It can not only summarize the text materials in textbooks,improve the lack of written materials,and strengthen and reproduce the functions of text content,but also reflect the aesthetic value of textbooks and the cultivation of students’ aesthetic education.Textbook illustrations reinforce students’ knowledge of the content of the knowledge and can develop divergent thinking while gaining visual experience.Illustration is one of the important standards for the compilation of textbooks.Its quality affects the efficiency of students’ access to knowledge,the quality of teachers’ teaching,and the overall arrangement of textbooks.The subject of this project is the illustration material of the “material structure” part of the Chinese and American high school chemistry textbook.That is,People’s Education Press publishes high school chemistry textbooks(hereinafter referred to as “PEP”),“Chemistry 2(required)”,“Material Structure and Nature(Selective 3)”,and the US High School Chemistry Textbook“Glencoe Science Chemistry: Concepts and Applications” Illustration in the context of the same content in the above two parts of the knowledge system.But different types of illustrations have different educational values.Therefore,this topic will compare the illustrations of the two textbooks in terms of category,arrangement,function and presentation of the illustrations,and draw conclusions by analyzing and contrasting the educational philosophy of the two countries,the foundation of natural science education,and the teaching methods.Provide reference opinions for the preparation and selection of follow-up chemistry textbooks in China.According to the functional characteristics of different types of illustrations,teaching strategies are provided for teachers’ daily teaching. |
