The Pedagogical Agent is a virtual image in the learning environment,designed to assist teaching and optimize teaching effectiveness.Animated Pedagogical Agent(APA)refers to the more complex types of Pedagogical Agent.Realistic agent roles fuse learners and learning environments together and create rich face-to-face learning interactions.Animated Pedagogical Agent can use a voice,gestures,expressions,etc.to guide learners to learn,and can give learners emotional support.It solves the problems such as lack of resources,lack of interaction and lack of motivation in the learner's learning process.In previous studies,it has been demonstrated that in a traditional classroom environment,teacher enthusiasm can enhance students' positive emotions,intrinsic motivation and cognitive results.And emotional response theory also believes that the teacher's enthusiasm for verbal and non-verbal clues will be based on the learner's positive emotions,thereby affecting the learner's learning motivation and cognitive outcomes.So in the multimedia learning environment,does the APA also affect the students' emotions,intrinsic motivation,and cognitive outcomes? This study uses junior high school mathematics as an entry point to explore how APA emotions affect learners.The first experiment is to explore whether the neutral emotion APA can enhance the learner's learning effect in the micro course environment.The second experiment was to compare the difference in the effects of neutral emotional APA and enthusiastic emotional APA on learners' emotions,motivation,and cognitive outcomes.Experiment 3 is a repetitive experiment of Experiment 2 in order to test the validity of the results of Experiment 2 and to explore how the effects of neutral emotion APA and enthusiastic emotion APA on learners will change.The experimental results show that neutral emotion APA has no obvious positive effect on learners,and enthusiastic emotional APA has a very positive impact on learners' emotions,motivation,and cognitive outcomes.With the increases of the number of students learning micro courses,The enthusiasm APA's effect on learners' positive influences will be reduced,but it is still clearly superior to the neutral APA.Finally,the researchers rethinked the insufficiency and limitations of the research and proposed suggestions for future research.
