Education evaluation can directly detect the problems in the teaching process,which is an important way to improve the quality of talents cultivation and achieve the goals of university education.Student evaluation of teaching is an extension and expansion of the concept of education evaluation,and is an important component of teacher evaluation methods.However,the current student evaluation of teaching system is mostly based on the teacher's teaching perspectives,such as teaching attitude,behavior of teachers,teaching methods of teachers,etc.It fails to fully and truly reflect the quality of teaching,more importantly,it greatly ignores the needs of students.Consequently,it has a bad effect on the scientificity of student evaluation of teaching.Therefore,the student evaluation of teaching should be improved and reformed.Based on the educational principles obtained from the comprehensive study of existing literature on this topic and the author's research experience in M University,the dissertation preliminarily proposes a new index system for the student evaluation of teaching from the perspective of students' learning outcomes.The goal for the new index system is to promote both the learning of students and teaching.The dissertation mainly includes the following contents and innovations:Firstly,the author listed the outline and used the interview method to investigate the current status and existing problems on student evaluation of teaching in M University.Specifically,the author contacted teachers,students,class teachers and other related people in M University to conduct a forum to discuss and exchange opinions on the issues.Secondly,the author carefully analyzed the problems of student evaluation of teaching in M University based on the interview and discussion,and summarized the key issues such as the students' enthusiasm for participation in student evaluation of teaching is low,meanwhile their attitudes are not serious;evaluation indexes were irrationally and failed to reflect the learning outcomes of students.Finally,under the influence of the “student-centered” education philosophy,the author tried to reflect the situation of teaching by using the student's learning outcomes,and proposed a new a new index system for student evaluation of teaching based on the cognitive dimensions,emotional dimensions and action dimensions of students.The most important feature of this index system is that it used the learning outcomes to reflect the quality of teaching,and employed the quality of learning to indicate the ability of teachers.Therefore,the new index system can not only improve the enthusiasm of students' participation to student evaluation of teaching by transforming of the subject of index system,but also provide new thinking and useful references to comprehensively and objectively evaluate the ability of teachers.
