Geography is a kind of subject based on places and positions,whose important research content is about regional geography.Hence,regional is a obvious feature in geography subject.Being guided by the educational purpose of strengthening students’ morality,then the latest Geography Curriculum Reform in senior high school is carried out;besides,the researches on establishment of the key competency system in geography subject are also being worked out.On the basis of regional characters of geography and the educational purpose of students’ moral cultivation,regional cognition literacy is regarded as the composing element of key competency in geography subject.The research of cultivation strategies on high school students’ regional cognitive literacy can not only promote the cultivation of students’ key competency,but also improve their geography learning.The author investigated high school geography teachers and senior high school students in Nanchong area by questionnaire,in order to Understand the basic status of regional cognitive literacy and its cultivation from teachers and students.By analyzing the survey results of teachers,some conclusions have been reached:insufficient understanding of the connotation of regional cognitive literacy,the form and content of on-the-job training need to be improved,relevant theoretical learning and instructional activity design is lacking,appropriate teacher skill competition can promote the cultivation of regional cognitive literacy,and there are a few factors influencing regional cognitive literacy cultivation.At the same time,based on the level of students’ regional cognitive literacy,the writer selected the questions of test in the present study from the college entrance examinations,investigated students through this test in two senior high schools in Nanchong,and analyzed the following main problems: regional spatial positioning ability is not high;Unable to fully analyze regional characteristics;not good at understanding the region from the perspective of difference;lack of geographic information processing ability;exploring regional development is the weak link.For these problems,firstly,the writer try to put forward some cultivation principles to develop students’ regional cognitive literacy in seniorhigh school with the guidance of Cognitive Structure Theory,Situated Cognition Theory,Constructive Learning Theory,Gagne’s Information Processing Theory and Theory of Human-environment Coordination.For example,combining theory with practice,long-term principle,unity principle,student-orientation principle,and progressive principle.Secondly,the cultivation strategies are further proposed from teachers and students two aspects.For teachers,Strengthen Regional Cognitive Literacy training activities,organize some skill competitions among them,and conduct self-education for themselves.For students,their regional cognitive literacy should be developed from regional positioning,feature analysis,regional perspectives,information processing,and exploration of regional development.From the perspective of teaching practice in geography in senior high school,the writer complete relevant teaching designs in terms of the above principles and strategies.The contents of teaching examples are about “the Control of Desertification” and “Regional Agricultural Development” from Geography Book 3published by People’s Education Press,which aims to provide teaching references for developing students’ regional cognitive literacy in senior high school.
