The Study And Implication Of Career Educattion In American High Schools

In the new round of college entrance examination system reform,the subject reform of high school is of greatest concern.This requires that the independent option should be given back to the students.Therefore,education has aroused wide public concern,and corresponding measures have been taken in China.Compared with Chinese career education,America has a long history of career education,solid theoretical foundation and rich practical experience.The study of American secondary school career education can provide theoretical guidance and practical experience for the development of career education in China.This paper explores the theoretical basis and development process of career education in the United States in the early 20 th century from the perspective of Processor-Dewey Debase.It mainly adopts case study method and chooses California as representation to make investigation,through searching literature,inquiring website and interviewing with the local education experts.It studies the background and purpose,the implementation method,support system,the characteristics and shortcomings of career education in California.Through the exploration of the theory and practice of career education in American,it is believed that the current career of education in the United States shows the trend of the integration of general education and vocational education.Strong legal protection and financial support,the coherent career education system,the real-time database and positive social participation,diverse psychological assessment tools,are the important condition of American career education development successfully.And it provides a guidance for career education in China.
