Judging by the development trend of basketball, shooting skills have become the core oftechnique system.One-hand-over-shoulder shooting is the most basic shooting method and the precondition for acquiring other shooting techniques. What determine the result of a basketball game are the scores obtained within a fixed length time, meaning that shooting average(the success rate of attack)matters.Among various shooting methods, shooting following movement has been a blind spot for the training of basketball teams of different levels,so the practices for shooting following movement are very rare.By analyzing and discussing literature at home and abroad, this paper is based on control experiments and other research approaches to study the training method of shooting following movement and determine viable training plans.Furthermore, studies are also conducted into the relationship between shooting following movement and shooting average as well as the impact of shooting following movement on rotation speed of ball leaving hands.According to the final result,we can see that basketball players can properly adopt shooting following movement from scratch after going through well-designed shooting practices. With proficient movements in shooting, shooting average can be improved. In addition, the relationship between the completion degree of shooting following movement and the ball rotation speed is studied, along with the analysis of how ball rotation speed influences shooting average.Eventually, this paper summarizes the real cause behind the improvement of shooting average made possible by a complete shooting following movement.Targeted training suggestions and methods are also provided for the practices of shooting following movement.
