The chemistry textbook of junior grade three plays as a bridge in chemistry teaching and is the main material of teaching and students' study.In the trend of new curriculum revolution,it is necessary to implement a revolution for textbooks.An appropriate textbook is directly linked with effective teaching activities.Since 2014,Linhe region in Bayan Nur City has changed the previous Kejiao Version to PEP textbook.Which version was more suitable for teaching of Linhe region in Bayan Nur City? It is important for teacher.This is a topic which is worth research.So,this paper conducts a coparative research of the PEP version and Kejiao Version.This paper under the circumstance of changes of chemistry textbooks in a junior high school in Linhe District in Bayan Nur City and students' learning there,mainly adopts research methods of literature analysis and comparative analysis of chemistry textbooks of grade nine published by PEP and Guangdong Education Press both in 2012.This paper adopts research methods of literature analysis to explore comparative studies of textbooks home and abroad.This paper compares new lesson introduction,teaching contents,explorative experiments and after-class exercise of the two versions,showing that PEP version pays attention on teaching for building students' foundation with more units and easy to understand.This decreases difficulties of learning with fewer exercise questions.The inquiring experiments are characterized by a high amount,simple content,a low enlightening level,low openness and weak inquiring nature;The amount of exercise is low,while higher attention is paid to subjective questions.The Kejiao Version emphasizes more on students' learning in order to improve their scientific abilities and thinking abilities.Its experiments have more procedures,leaving more possibilities for student to ponder.This version has more after-class exercise which is more about objective questions.The results show that Kejiao Version is an expanding textbook which is not suitable for teaching inLinhe District in Bayan Nur City;while PEP is foundation-based,which suits local teaching as it can enhance students' preview before the class to master basic chemistry knowledge and practice experimental thoughts and abilities,as well as trigger students' interest in dealing with questions and finally achieve the goal of teaching in the chemistry textbook.
